Job description:                                   My position as Concierge onboard the Silversea ship is not to compare with the Concierge position in land based hotels. This position onboard our ships is like a combination of Front Office Manager and Guest Relation Manager. This name has been changed now because Concierge is not the appropriate name for this position anymore. I am responsible for embarkation, Suite configurations, Shore arrangements, Rental cars, Restaurant/Hotel reservations, Flight bookings and changes, dealing with port agents etc. I am the Head of Department for the Front Desk and responsible for a smooth run of the Reception desk. This job involves basically everything to satisfy the guests needs.

One of my major responsibilities is the handling of complaints, which needs a lot of sensibility. Experience is of course also an advantage in the hospitality industry.

I am responsible for 300 crewmembers. I work in close cooperation with our Head Office in Fort Lauderdale and Monaco to ensure the best for our crew. I am handling the accounting, payroll, vacation planning, sign on/off of crewmembers, flight and transfer arrangements, visa issues, etc. Together with all our agents in every port I am arranging embarkation and debarkation. I am also taking care of the berthing and organize parties and other events on a daily basis. It is a quite complex job but  very interesting.

Job description:                                     Management of all documentation required to obtain Ship’s clearance.

Maintains contacts with Port Agent in regards of pax/crew on/off, vessels requests and any links to port officials for ordinary matters.

Management of Finances, Accounting and Control related to passengers, crew, vessel and office requests as entered in cashbooks supported by relative documents.


Concessions accounting as entered in cashbooks supported by relative documents.

Full knowledge of contract financial and accounting terms. Control of concession activities in regards of pricing, correct selling procedures to guests and crew,  End Of Cruise documentation.

Management of accounting and control of on board Silversea centers of revenues as entered in cashbooks such as Tours, F&B services, Medical services, Future cruises, Telecommunications, Business Centers etc.

Management of Fidelio set-up, maintenance and reporting in regards of financial and accounting as per above areas and subjects and solely in accordance with instructions received from Shipboard Accounting Office and from IT dept. for technical issues.

Chief Purser, as unique centre, collects requests and malfunctioning from users.
